Bill Jenkins

Bill worked in the Communities First programme for 9 years from its beginning in 2001.  In addition to front-line community development work, he worked in roles supporting and mentoring staff to implement the programme more effectively, and also sought to influence Welsh Government officials to develop more coherent policy guidance.

Ultimately, these struggles became too much and he quit disillusioned in 2010.  This period of professional work was really just one episode in a lifetime of community activism and voluntary work.  Since 2010 he has been a full-time carer, while also finding time to be active in his own community in a variety of ways.  He has pursued his interest in addressing poverty through the study of monetary economics.
