All Thirteen Communities Now On Board

All Thirteen Communities Now On Board

12 Dec 2016

We’re excited to announce that we now have all thirteen communities involved in the Invest Local programme.

During November, the last two communities joined the programme: Glyn in North Wales, and Trowbridge and St Mellons in South Wales.

The Glyn area of Colwyn Bay encompasses much of the town centre of Colwyn Bay, Eirias Park, the Civic Centre, and a residential area with mostly old Victorian properties.

Trowbridge and St Mellons are two neighbouring communities to the east of Cardiff. Over 16,000 people live in the area, making it the largest community that we are working in.

Chief Executive of BCT, Chris Johnes, said: “It’s a really interesting time for the programme, especially now we have all 13 communities on board. Some communities are about to get started on putting their first Driving Change plans together, while some are only just starting out with the consultation process. There are great opportunities for the communities to learn from one another, and in 2017, we’ll be running lots of Shared Learning events, where people from the communities can get together and share experiences and knowledge.”
