Rhian is Communications Manager for BCT.

Rhian has an extensive and diverse range of communications and engagement experience at both strategic and operational levels, gained through over two decades of roles performed predominantly within the public and third sector.

Before joining BCT, Rhian worked for the Falkland Islands Government for four years as their Head of Communications, helping explain the narrative of the Islanders’ political, social, and economic self-determination, and the progress made since 1982. Prior to this she worked for two charities – the Museum of London Archaeology and the King’s Fund – however for most of her employment she has held positions within the NHS in both Wales and England.

The common theme throughout her career has been to put people at the centre of their own story – to ensure that their voices are heard, understood, and included in any action that affects them. She believes strongly in social justice and equity of opportunity, and strives to reflect these important principles in her approach to work. She also believes in – and gets excited by – the necessary evolution of communications practice and doesn’t get upset by a split infinitive (anymore).

In her spare time, her favourite (!) activity is supporting Welsh rugby in all of its shapes and forms. She is also a keen creative writer, loves languages, and is teaching herself the guitar… she hopes to nail that elusive second chord soon…
