Matthew has over ten years’ experience working in policy, research, public affairs and community development in the charity sector in England and Wales.
He previously worked as Policy and Research Officer for Care & Repair Cymru where he developed evidence based solutions to improve older people’s housing, health and social care needs.
Before this he was a Development Worker with All Wales People First. In this role he supported 22 self-advocacy groups for people with learning disabilities improve their governance, fundraising and campaigning skills. Self-advocates went on to create new groups, influence decision makers and design and shape services for people with learning disabilities across Wales.
For most of his career Matthew has worked on social justice and human rights issues in London. He was Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer for east London charity Community Links, where he led their policy work on housing, benefits and poverty issues.
Before this he was Policy Manager with campaigning policy and voice charity The Traveller Movement. In this role he worked closely with Gypsies, Roma and Travellers across the UK successfully reforming how Government and many public bodies engage and support the communities.
