Zunaira is one of our Invest Local Officers in South Wales.
She has almost fifteen years’ experience of working with diverse ethnic communities. She was previously Community Engagement Services Operations Manager at NewLink Wales, a not-for-profit substance misuse organisation. Her role involved representing the needs of diverse ethnic communities within the substance misuse field, managing community engagement projects and designing and delivering cultural awareness training to agencies and volunteers. Zunaira is also co-author of the ‘Axis All Areas’ engagement toolkit, which was the first of its kind in Wales.
Before that, she worked on NewLink’s Wales Community Engagement Project in Newport, designing and delivering culturally appropriate substance misuse information sessions to diverse ethnic communities.
From 2002-2008 Zunaira worked with the communities of Newport, identifying gaps/barriers within health service provision and support access to services.
